We are happy to welcome several new counselors to the Admissions team.
Emma Farinacci comes to the college after working as a sales coordinator at the Saratoga Hilton. She completed her associate degree in Liberal arts and Sciences: Humanities and Social Science at Hudson Valley in 2015 and her bachelors in English communication from Salve Regina University in 2017.
Emma, who also serves on the college’s Alumni Committee, was an office assistant in Admissions from 2017 to 2018, performing various clerical and office tasks including call reception and student admission, student data entry via Banner, organizing weekly events for high school groups, and assisting with open house and orientation.
Emma will assist applicants in the following programs: Accounting, Architectural Technology, Business Administration, Civil Engineering Technology, Constructions Technology, Entrepreneurship, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Marketing, as well as assist with tours and events management.
Eric Parker comes to the college from Utica College, where he has served as the head coach for cross country and track and field for the past four years. Eric was charged with recruitment of athletes and managing a roster of 130 student-athletes for track and field and 40 for cross country. He also was responsible for maintaining a $500,000 budget for six Division III, intercollegiate programs as well as recruitment and academic monitoring plans.
Eric received a B.S. in elementary education from Iowa State University, where he was twice named to the All-Big 12 Conference All-Academic Team and was a member of the All-Big 12 Conference 60 meter hurdles 4x100m team. He’s been a member of the National Academic Advisement Association member since 2013.
Eric will assist applicants in the following programs: Early Childhood, Early Childhood Administration, Exercise Science, Health and Wellness Studies, Special Education Assistance, Worksite Health Promotion, Liberal Arts: Humanities and Social Science and the Liberal Arts advisement tracks.
Mary Patton has been with the admissions staff for about a year following service as a recruitment advisor at the State University of New York, providing technical support for SUNY’s online application, school counselor portal and the SUNY campus portal. She earned a bachelor’s degree in archaeology from the University of Virginia.
Mary will assist applicants in the following programs: Individual Studies, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Physical Science, Health Sciences Certificate.
Rachel Jones comes to Hudson Valley after serving in the Admissions Office at Schenectady County Community College since 2012. Rachel oversaw many administrative functions at SCCC, including recruiting a diverse population of students from throughout New York, event coordination, review of student prospect files, and providing campus tours.
She was a music performance graduate at SCCC in 2012, and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in arts administration from Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi.
Rachel will assist applicants in the following programs: Animal Policy, Chemical Dependency Counseling, Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, Digital Media, Fine Arts, Human Services, Public Administration, Forensic Science and Theater Arts.
